Windows says "Windows protected your PC"?

That's SmartScreen warning about a new, not-yet-common program – it appears for most small independent apps until Microsoft has seen enough installs. Click More info, then Run anyway. You only see it once. Want to check the file first? Every release is scanned by 60+ antivirus engines – see the VirusTotal report. If your antivirus quarantines the file, restore it and add the LiveCatch folder to its exclusions.

First run

  1. Run the installer (or unzip the portable version) and open LiveCatch from the Start Menu.
  2. Paste a live link (or a channel link) and click Add & Watch.
  3. Recordings land in Videos\LiveCatch – change it with the Change button.
Tip: if a stream ever fails to record after a platform update, open Start Menu → LiveCatch → Update yt-dlp and ffmpeg (portable version: double-click get_tools.bat in the app folder). It refreshes the recording engine in seconds, no reinstall.
